Is there any good (and free) web publishing software out there?

Or, could someone point me in the direction of a good programming tutorial? I'm really new to this. I need something simple for a band website. I've already got a domain name and a web host, so I think I'm almost set.

I'm looking to make something along the lines of rivulets.net or vstk.org.

(BTW, I am not affiliated with either of these bands!)

To do WYSIWYG web pages editing, you have NVU, a Dreamweaver like opensource, multi-platform application.

This is a good point to start, a little buggy maybe.

Then to learn HTML you have a lot of websites. Here is one :

nope... u get what you pay for... unless u find a way to steal a serial number for dreamweaver or something.
Reply:OpenOffice has writer that allows you to create web pages with, or you could always find some freeware visual web design tool. If you really want to do it right, Microsoft is allowing people to 'beta' test the replacement for frontpage called Microsoft Expression WebDesigner.
