If a web host crashes, how can you recover the stuff from your site?

You keep copies of everything you upload, on your computer and backup drive(s). ~

Also, a good hosting service will have their own backups.

you don't, host crashes, you crash...
Reply:the host needs to back up and restores its files. if it doesn't your stuff is gone unless u backed it up.
Reply:It's always a good idea to keep everything backed up locally.
Reply:There really isn't, to my knowledge, a way to do that, unless said host has a backup and fixes server. It's why I keep backups of all my websites on my computers. (I even have a dummy multiple HDD system for this purpose only)
Reply:Well you can hope the host recovers and your sites comes back. If not, you can try searching your browser's cache or use something like the cached pages in Google.
Reply:most ISP's run servers in high availability mode where each system is redundant and always has a current copy of the main system.........If you have lost data due to a host failure, it's time to find a new hosting company.....
Reply:Have a local copy on your PC.
