Can you help please about website design, domain, hosting %26amp; money making?
1. A domain is your .com (for example address). DO NOT get your hosting with godaddy, network solutions, hostgator, or any other %26quot;big%26quot; provider - the telephone wait times are 30-40 minutes, and you%26#039;ll get nowhere if you have problems. http://www.DependableHost.net is BY FAR the best host that I%26#039;ve ever come across. Support tickets answered within minutes - not hours or days!

2. Cheaper is NOT always better. You get what you pay for. A host offering 500 GB storage, and unlimited transfer is BS%26#039;ing you. You wont even get to 1% of what you%26#039;re given - guaranteed! They use big numbers to make it look anticing, but you%26#039;re not goint to scratch the surface. http://www.DependableHost.net offers hosting for $3.99/month (if you do annual billing). You can get a free domain name with them as well!

3. This depends on what your website is offering. You can use adwords, and be paid per click on your website. Also - join the affiliate program that DependableHost.net offers, and you%26#039;ll be paid commission from every referral as a result of your link from your website. If someone that you refer gets an affiliate account - you%26#039;ll also get 25% of THEIR commission!

3.5 - DependableHost.net has a strict privacy policy that they follow. I don%26#039;t get any spam from them, and I%26#039;ve always been very satisfied. The tech%26#039;s at DependableHost are always watching the servers 24x7x365 for security issues, server performance, and DoS attacks. They are on top of things!

They have 30-day moneyback guarantee - give them a shot - you%26#039;ll be impressed!

1 - Hosting: you can get good deals at http://www.domainhaul.com or http://www.godaddy.com

2 - Cheapest providers I know of are those two I just mentioned. It runs around $10 a year for a domain name and $5 a month for hosting ( a good hosting account with plenty of storage, free email, free blog and a bunch of other stuff ).

3 - You can set up a affiliate marketing accounts to make money --- http://www.linkshare.com and http://www.commissionjunction.com

You can also sell ads on your site through Google AdSense

Reply:Wow that%26#039;s a lot of questions. As theowner of my own web design and hosting company (http://texxsmith.com) I can see how you would have a lot of questions tho. Well let%26#039;s get started:

1- domain names are cheapest/best managed at godaddy.com

a- you can get a little cheaper than theirs but you really don%26#039;t want to.

2- That %26quot;end address%26quot; (like .com or .net) is called a %26quot;Top Level Domain%26quot; see above for that kind of info, but your also asking about :

a- HOSTING: The cheapest you can get is free. You don%26#039;t want this tho as they put adverts and tracking cookies on your site. And if your wanting money on your site you want your adverts and no tracking cookies (some people won%26#039;t come back to a site with tracking cookies)

b- Some good choices are my hosting company - texxsmith.com (mention I answered your quesion and get huge discounts), and hostM.com (although I had to stop using them because of too many service interruptions.).

1- I don%26#039;t know a lot of good choices but here%26#039;s some ones to stay away from:

a- godaddy.com great for domain names, bad for hosting, they nickel and dime you for every single service and your bill ends up being higher not lower like you%26#039;d expect, plus I hear not only do they have service interuptions, but they also loose data on occasion. That%26#039;s devastating for database driven sites, as you loose things, like members user names and passords, articles, etc.

b- ipowerweb.com or anone that resells their services. They are cheap but there server works on non-standard technology, has waay bad customer support, lots of service outages and if you use too much band width they boot you, their control panel sucks too.

c-ivhosting.com, waaaaay cheap if you buy in bulk, horrible service and older (but standard which is good) technology on their server.

All of that is assuming your going to need an open-source server (yes opensource server usually do FP extensions) butif you want to use MS only technologies like ASP, C#, sharepoint services, exchange, etc. You will never find anything cheap (or stable, or powerful or secure for that matter, however if you need a site with millions of dtabase entries and you need MS-SQL interactivity, you won%26#039;t have a choice)

3-how to make money . . . If we could tell you that, well I d be rich and wouldn%26#039;t be answering your question would i? Well I ca point you in the right direction:

A- Have a service that%26#039;s so unique and good that people will pay for it

B- Have a Service so unique and poplular that you make lots of money with advertising (youtube.com for example)

C- Have several good sites that has advertising and be happy with a little bit of money (coupe hundred to a couple thousand a year)

D- Have hundreds of crappy web sites with advertising on them (they have to be crappy enough to get people to click the advertising to go to other sites), and somehow get them listed in the search engines. This is really risky.

E- Affiliate marketing NEVER EVER works, don%26#039;t waste your time. (ok maybe for 1-2% of the people who do it) The people who tell you it will are usually get a kick back if you sign up, or just don%26#039;t know better.

In short if your looking to make money, be a banker, because very few people actually make money from a web site alone.

4- Privacy, depends on what you mean by providor. Your ISP (the company that provides your home/office with internet access collects every single thing they can about you, keeps itr forever and share it with anyone and everyone they consider a %26quot;marketing partner%26quot; or company necessary forthem to do business. Read that as anyone willing to pay enough for it.

If you mean your web host, all they get is a list of IP addresses. Unless you use a free-host with advertising and tracking cookies. Thye collect asmuch as they can on the people that visit your site and share it as described above.

Read everyone privacy policy (they count the hits to them) and currently know that most americans are too stupid/naive to care.

What you collect from your site visitors is up to you, unless you use some free script that do things like add a quest book to your site or other cool things, they usually have hidden tracking mechanisms added in.

WOW that was a lot of info! New webmasters need it though. If you have more questions or you are confused contactr me through my web site listed below.

GOOD LUCK %26amp; HAVE FUN
